Purpose
Pursuant
to Article X to XIII of the Signal Mountain Zoning Ordinance, the Board shall
have the following duties: Administrative Review: To hear and decide appeals
where it is alleged by the appellant that there is error in any order, requirement,
permit, decision, or refusal made by the Building Inspector, or any other administrative
official in the carrying out or enforcement of any provision of these regulations.
Special Exceptions, Conditions Governing Application Procedures: To hear and
decide only such requests for special exceptions of for interpretation of the
map or for decisions upon other special questions as the Board of Zoning Appeals
is specifically authorized to pass upon the terms of these regulations; to decide
such questions as are involved in determining whether special exceptions should
be granted; and to grant special exceptions with such conditions and safeguards
as are appropriate under these regulations, or to deny special exceptions when
not in harmony with the intent and purpose of these regulations.
