Service Office Rating (ISO)
The Town has a Class "5" fire rating from the Insurance Service Office.
The Town's department is
in the Tri-State Mutual Aid Association which allows us to call on other departments
for help with
large fires or multiple fires.
First
Responder Program
The Fire Department runs a First Responder program which means the personnel
are trained in certain
first-aid and other medical procedures and can assist the county ambulance crew
during medical calls
and, on occasion, will respond to medical calls without the county ambulance
when the ambulance is
not available.
Fire
Prevention Program
The Fire Department conducts fire prevention programs for elementary and secondary
school children.
Free home inspections are available upon request (886-7075). Tours of the Fire
Station are also
available upon request.
CPR
The department conducts CPR classes on a regular basis. These classes
are available to all interested
parties for a nominal fee. Information about the classes is available upon request
at 886-7075.
Private
Fire Alarm Systems
The department welcomes private fire alarm systems, but requests homeowners
to register the system with the department and leave a key and alarm code with
several responsible and available neighbors in case of an alarm malfunction.
Fire
Hydrant
The department checks and flushes all fire hydrants twice a year.
