Town Streets
The Town maintains street pavement in Town, except the State/U. S. Highway.
Maintenance includes patching, resurfacing and total reconstruction.
Mowing in the Right-of-Way
Town will mow the right-of-way in front of unimproved property only. Citizens
are expected to mow the right-of-way along the front of their own residences.
Dead Trees in the Right-of-Way
Dead trees in the right-of-way are removed annually by the Town Public Works
Department or their contractor. Contact 886-2177 to advise the department of
a need in this area.
Live Trees Hanging Over/Into the Right-of-Way
Live trees hanging over/into the right-of-way must be trimmed back by the property
owner up to a height of fourteen (14) feet or over any sidewalk up to a height
of eight (8) feet.
Intersections
Trees/shrubs covering traffic regulation signs or blocking the line of sight
at intersections will be trimmed back by the Public Works Department. If they
are growing on private property, the property owner is responsible for trimming:
"It shall be unlawful for any property owner to have or maintain on his
property any tree, shrub, sign, or other obstruction which prevents persons
driving vehicles on public streets or alleys from obtaining a clear view of
traffic when approaching an intersection."
Sidewalks
Sidewalks are maintained by the property owners per Town Ordinance.
